the invitation · who gets whatA digital wedding invitation
that reaches every guest by name.
You wrote it once. Now your aunt wants it in her own language, and your colleague only the celebration they were invited to. Digital, online wedding invitations should do both.

One page with all your celebrations; every guest gets their own link, in their language, with their name on it — and you see who opened it.

three screens from the product
Example wedding · Elif & Denizwith more than one celebration
One invitation, and per guest only the celebrations they were asked to.
The kına for the women of the family, the nikah for the family, the düğün for everyone: the same page, but a guest sees and answers only the celebrations on their own card. Whoever was not asked to the kına does not see the kına.
who sees what
- The guest
- Their own invitation: the celebrations they were asked to, in their language, after the four digits of their number.
- You
- Who opened it, when, and who has not yet.
- Your venue and your team
- Nothing of the invitation. Each business has a link of its own with its celebrations and its agreement; the venue’s also shows how many said yes.
the page, itself
This is it — not a mock-up, the real page.
Below is the invitation of Elif & Deniz, an example wedding that genuinely lives in the product: 380 guests, three celebrations, three languages. Photographed at 360 pixels, in the browser WhatsApp itself opens. It wears an earlier design; a wedding begun today gets the diary’s one current design.

how it arrives

theweddingdiary.app
Dear family, here is our invitation. We so hope you can come.

The card above is the real share card the product renders for this wedding — example label baked in, so even a forwarded card stays honest. The chat framing around it is presentation; the card is the product.
send it to yourself
Receive it the way your guests receive it.
Not a screenshot — the real arrival: the button opens WhatsApp with the invitation of Hannah, a fictional guest on the example wedding. Send the message to yourself and the sealed card appears in your own chat.
The four digits at the door are 0000 — Hannah’s fictional number ends on them.
- Hannah does not exist; her wedding carries the example label on every page.
- Everyone on this page opens the same link. Answer freely — the next visitor may change it again.
- Whatever you answer here counts toward nothing.
and here it lives
Example weddingNot a video and not a picture: this is the component itself.
Below, the example wedding’s own invitation runs as a living part of this page, filled with its own data. Scroll inside it; it is real — though it wears an earlier design, and a wedding begun today gets the diary’s one current design.

Our story
We met at a wedding — he was on the dance floor, I was queuing for the takı. Seven years later it is our turn: one night of henna, one afternoon of vows, one evening with all of you.

The takı ceremony takes place during the reception. Your presence is the greatest gift.
The real component, with example data and the label above it. What you see is drawn here and now — not a recording.
what is on the page
One page.
You write what is on it.
Your names and your celebrations are always on it. The welcome, your story and the questions guests may have are there when you write them — the order is the page’s own.
Always on it
- The opening
- Your names, the date, and this guest’s name in the greeting.
- The celebrations
- Kına, nikah and düğün one under the other — each with its time and its address, your own words and dress code, and a button to put it in a calendar once they have said yes.
- Yes or no
- Per celebration, each person for themselves, with a deadline — and a meal to choose where you offer a menu. Your guest can change it until that deadline.
There when you write them
- The welcome
- One for everyone, or a different one for each group on your list; a guest reads the one written for their group.
- Your story
- How the two of you met, in as many moments as you like, each with a photograph if you want one.
- Questions
- Parking, children, what time it really starts, who to ring when someone cannot find the hall — the questions you would otherwise answer forty times on the phone.
- Takı and gifts
- The takı etiquette or a gift note, in your own words, as one of those questions. We never touch that money: it goes from your guest to you, around us.
Nothing about gifts is on the page unless you write it. Asking for money is never something we put there for you.
the link per guest
A link of their own — with a small gate in front of it.
Not one group link showing everybody the same thing. Each guest gets their own address, with their name, their language and only the celebrations they were asked to.
What your guest does before they are in
- 1They tap the link in WhatsApp.
- 2They confirm the last four digits of their mobile number — their own, or else the first in their household.
- 3Their phone remembers that for sixty days, so the second time nobody is asked anything.
- 4Five wrong tries locks the link for fifteen minutes.
- 5A guest with no number on file goes straight through, unasked.
No account and no password — that is true of your guests. The two of you do make an account, with an email address and a password.
sending
You press send.
We do not.
We put that one guest’s own link into your own WhatsApp. After that it is your thumb.
01
Pick one guest
One at a time, beside the invitation: their own link, to copy or to open in WhatsApp. The paper cards, each with its own QR code, print in one go.
02
WhatsApp opens with their link in it
You choose the chat and write the greeting in your own words; the link underneath is theirs alone. Then tick that it went, so you know who has theirs.
03
It goes from your number
Your guest sees a message from you, not from a company they have never heard of.
- We send nothing. There is no WhatsApp Business connection and nothing leaves on your behalf.
- There are no automatic reminders. Whoever has not opened it sits on a list; the second message is your tap.
- No email goes to your guests either — everything runs on the link you send.
paper and screen
The card stays, the counting moves.
Families who also send a card print the QR code and put it in. Your mother keeps her envelope, you keep your overview. That code carries that one guest’s own link too, so the answers still arrive by name.
The code is set as vector print, so two hundred cards stay one document. Behind a printed code stands the same four-digit gate.
a language per guest
ExampleThe same invitation, three languages, no language button.
The language belongs to the guest, not to the link. It sits on her own row in your list, so she opens the invitation right the first time. In Dutch, Turkish or English.
Türkçe
Fatma teyze, düğünümüze bekliyoruz.
The formal siz, because elders read it.
Nederlands
Joris, we vieren het graag met je.
The düğün only — he was not asked to the kına.
English
Elif, we would love you there.
The cousin who lives in London.
The product does not speak German, French or Arabic. We would rather say so now than when the invitation is already waiting to go.

From the invitation
to the embrace.
What you send comes back as people in the doorway.
three questions
What people ask here.
Do guests need an account or an app?
No. They tap their own link in WhatsApp and confirm the last four digits of their mobile number. Their phone remembers that for sixty days.
Which languages can the invitation be in?
Dutch, Turkish and English. You set the language per guest; they see no language button, only their own text.
Who sends the invitation?
You do, from your own phone. WhatsApp opens for one guest at a time, with that guest’s own link in the message; you choose the chat and press send. We send nothing. For those who give paper, you print a card with a QR code.
What it does not do
- Nothing leaves from our side: WhatsApp opens with one guest’s own link in the message, and you press send.
what we record
What we keep, and what we deliberately do not put beside it.
You see who opened their invitation and who has not yet. That is only possible if we keep something, so here is exactly what that is — and where it stops.
We do
- When the link was first opened.
- When it was last opened.
- How often.
- Roughly what kind of device it was.
- The language chosen.
- The answer.
We do not
- Where anyone is.
- A fingerprint of the browser.
- An advertising identifier.
What your venue and your team read is on a link of their own — it carries no guest list, and no amount but their own agreement.
